Helio-copter

This is the first version of the helicopter. Notice all the gears and how messy everything is. Lots of moving parts and very little power. The blades are eight feet diameter.



This is the second version. Much cleaner and simpler. This has about six moving parts. The belt slips under power. Back to the drawing board. Eight foot diameter blades.



This is the latest version. A drive system is a bit more complex but I got a lot more power out of it. Under full power I can get the blades to spin at about 200 rpm. I figure they need to spin about three times that speed for liftoff. They are cut down to six feet diameter.
